dc.description | This research work deals with the importance of the use of the Duolingo program in the learning of the English language. The objective of the study is to determine how the Duolingo program influences the English language learning of the students of the Alfonso Reyes Falcón School, since the use of information technologies represents for the teacher an alternative to support his contents through the use of new ludic tools (Duolingo) that promote meaningful learning. The methodology is as follows: it contains a non-experimental design, where the objective is to analyze, characterize and measure the variables; that is, the data are presented in a natural way, without being subjected to any change. The study has a mixed, qualitative-quantitative approach. In addition, the survey and interview techniques were applied to a population consisting of 80 units of analysis, among 3 teachers and 77 students of Fifth, Sixth and Seventh grades. The descriptive results of the study reveal that the perception of the respondents is based on the fact that the Duolingo program does contribute to English language learning; while the inferential analysis shows that the variables have a high degree of correlation according to the Spearman statistic, with a value of .833**. | es_ES |

dc.description.abstract | El presente trabajo de investigación trata sobre la importancia que posee el uso del programa Duolingo en el aprendizaje del idioma inglés. El objetivo del estudio es determinar de qué manera el programa Duolingo influye en el aprendizaje del idioma inglés de los docentes de la Escuela Alfonso Reyes Falcón, puesto que el uso de tecnologías de información representa para el docente una alternativa para apoyar sus contenidos mediante la utilización de nuevas herramientas lúdicas (Duolingo) que fomenten el aprendizaje significativo. La metodología está conformada de la siguiente manera: contiene un diseño no experimental, donde el objetivo es analizar, caracterizar y medir las variables; es decir, se presentan los datos de forma natural, sin ser sometidos a cambio alguno. El estudio posee un enfoque mixto, cuali-cuantitativo. Además, se aplicaron las técnicas encuesta y entrevista a una población constituida por 80 unidades de análisis, entre 3 docentes y 77 estudiantes de Quinto, Sexto y Séptimo grado. Los resultados descriptivos del estudio revelan que la percepción de las personas encuestadas se basa en que el programa Duolingo sí aporta en el aprendizaje del idioma inglés; mientras que el análisis inferencial demuestra que las variables poseen un elevado grado de correlación según el estadístico Spearman, con un valor de ,833**. | es_ES |
