Pulmonary fibrosis is a progressive pathology that affects the lung parenchyma, which produces irreversible damage. The tissue thickens and due to its rigidity in advanced stages, respiratory failure appears, characterized by decreased oxygen and increased carbon dioxide in the blood. This condition occurs in a 60-year-old female patient with a history of pulmonary fibrosis who is hospitalized for signs of respiratory distress to be treated. The general objective of this study was to analyze the generalities of pulmonary fibrosis that allow improving the quality of life of the patient under study. The conclusion of this project is that pulmonary fibrosis is a slow and progressive pathology that needs to be treated effectively to improve the patient's quality of life based on pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatment, which includes supplemental oxygen support and respiratory rehabilitation.es_ES
