dc.description | The objective of this work was: To identify the main maternal and perinatal complications in pregnant adolescents between 13 and 19 years of age treated at the Martin Icaza General Hospital, in the period of November 2023 - April 2024. Methodology: Quantitative, cross-sectional and retrospective approach study, with a sample of 225 women with maternal-perinatal complications, in which care from medical records belonging to the Martin Icaza General Hospital was used as an instrument. It is necessary to emphasize that understanding the causes and implications of maternal-perinatal complications is essential to provide better support to affected adolescents and to advance reproductive health care. Medical and emotional support can make a significant difference in the experience of those facing this situation, and public awareness of this issue is essential to ensure that those experiencing it receive the necessary support and care. | es_ES |

dc.description.abstract | El presente trabajo tuvo como objetivo: Identificar las principales complicaciones maternas y perinatales en gestantes adolescentes entre 13 y 19 años de edad atendidas en el Hospital General Martin Icaza, en el periodo de Noviembre 2023 – Abril del 2024. Metodología: Estudio de enfoque cuantitativo, transversal y retrospectivo, con muestra de 225 mujeres con complicaciones materno perinatales, en el que se utilizó como instrumento las atenciones de historias clínicas pertenecientes al Hospital General Martin Icaza. Es necesario recalcar que, comprender las causas y las implicaciones de las complicaciones materno perinatales es esencial para brindar un mejor apoyo a las adolescentes afectadas y para avanzar en la atención de la salud reproductiva. El acompañamiento médico y emocional puede marcar una diferencia significativa en la experiencia de quienes enfrentan esta situación, y la conciencia pública acerca de este tema es fundamental para garantizar que quienes lo atraviesan reciban el apoyo y los cuidados necesarios. | es_ES |
