dc.description	The syndrome of respiratory distress of the newborn is defined as a condition that almost always occurs in preterm newborns because they do not have enough lung maturity because of this there is a deficit of surfactant caused in the physiological part of the lung that is not performed Normally, this is due to the fact that the lung distensibility will become more rigid due to this, the lung cannot be distended normally, thus perfusion ventilation is affected and therefore the gas exchange. The main objective of the research is to know how gestational diabetes influences in the SDRN of the neonates belonging to NICU of the IESS hospital Babahoyo Los Ríos during the period September 2017 to February 2018. A retrospective descriptive cross-sectional study was carried out to identify the environmental determinants associated with the syndrome of respiratory distress of the newborn for the collection of information were conducted surveys and interviews directed to both mothers in gestation and health staff of the General Hospital of the IESS, as an instrument was prepared a questionnaire for obtain the information to delimit the objective of the investigation, our population was 41 and the sample was 37 pregnant mothers who developed gestational diabetes in the period from September 2017 to February 2018, which were chosen using the inclusion, exclusion and exit criteria. With this research it was possible to determine that the greater the lack of education and being a descendant of diabetic relatives and the fact that performing poor prenatal checkups increases the possibility of developing gestational diabetes and its complications at birth, such as macrosomía and respiratory distress syndrome. dc.description.abstract	El síndrome de dificultad respiratoria del recién nacido se define como una afección que casi siempre se produce en los recién nacido pretérmino ya que no tienen la suficiente madurez pulmonar por esto se producen un déficit de surfactante ocasionado que en la parte fisiológica del pulmón no se realice su funcionamiento con normalidad esto se debe a que se va a ver afectada la distensibilidad del pulmón se pondrá más rígido debido a esto el pulmón no se puede distender con normalidad por ende se ve afectada la ventilación perfusión y por ende el intercambio gaseoso. El objetivo esencial de la investigación es Conocer cómo influye la diabetes gestacional en el SDRN de los neonatos pertenecientes a UCIN del hospital del IESS cantón Babahoyo Los Ríos durante el periodo septiembre 2017 a febrero 2018. Se realizó un estudio descriptivo retrospectivo de corte transversal para identificar los determinantes ambientales asociados al síndrome de dificultad respiratoria del recién nacido para la recolección de información se realizaron encuestas y entrevistas dirigidas tanto a las madres en estados de gestación y el personal de la salud del Hospital General del IESS, como instrumento se confecciono un cuestionario para obtener la información para delimitar el objetivo de la investigación, nuestra población fue de 41 y la muestra fue de 37 madres en estado gestación que desarrollaron diabetes gestacional en el periodo septiembre del 2017 a febrero del 2018 las cuales fueron elegidas utilizando los criterios de inclusión, exclusión y de salida. Con esta investigación se logró determinar que mientras mayor sea la falta de educación y ser descendiente de familiares diabéticos y más aún el realizarse pobre controles prenatales aumenta la posibilidad de que desarrolle diabetes gestacional y sus complicaciones al nacer, como macrosomía y en síndrome de dificultad respiratoria del recién nacido.	es_ES
