In the present clinical case it is a male patient aged 85 years with a medical diagnosis with acute respiratory failure (ARF), who arrived accompanied by his son indicating that he has respiratory distress, cough, expectoration for that reason, he goes to the arbón home which arbón e to admit the patient in the Critical Care arb (ICU). A study is carried out on how mechanical ventilation will help to improve this condition and because its proper use is important when it is found in the arb of intensive care units (ICU), after performing various examinations and complementary tests it is arrived to a definitive diagnosis. The study focuses on recognizing acute respiratory failure (ARF) as a disease that obstructs the airways, damages the lung tissue, which with the help of ventilation we can improve the ventilatory mechanics of the patient and with this contribute to the stability of the patient that reaches the intensive care units (ICU). Doctors and respiratory therapists use a fingertip sensor (pulse oximetry) to detect low oxygen concentrations. Oxygen is supplied. Sometimes affected people need a respirator until the arbón e can be treated. The basic respiratory function is the gaseous arbón e of oxygen and arbón dioxide; which implies a perfect balance and control between the components of the respiratory system. Acute respiratory failure (ARF) is the inability of the respiratory system to fulfill its basic function, which is the gaseous arbón e of oxygen and arbón dioxide.es_ES
