dc.description | During the first 3 weeks of life, all the structures of the nerve fiber layers finish forming, causing that at this stage the vision is quite low and is shown mainly by the vestibular reflexes without the newborn even having the fixing ability. For its correct development of the visual system, the fixation reflex needs a reinforcement through active vision, if there is then any error in the visual system and its correct development, the normal process of growth and maturation of the ocular structures will be affected. Later, they will prevent good visual acuity, especially since they are affected by the important mechanism of fixation, resulting in a decrease in vision. Binocular vision, where undoubtedly strabismus is one of the most common manifestations that has a direct influence on the affection of visual acuity. Within the work of visual health professionals is the very important role of health prevention at all levels, the diagnosis of the visual health of infants is of vital importance, especially in the period between the 1st year of life and the 4th year of birth, thus enabling the early and timely diagnosis of alterations in binocular vision, where without a doubt strabismus is one of the most common manifestations that has a direct influence on the affection of visual acuity and loss of visual acuity. | es_ES |

| es_ES |
