| dc.description | Liver cirrhosis is the final result of liver affections limiting its normal function, affecting the state of health with complications such as ascites, edema, bleeding, splenomegaly, hematomas and hepatic encephalopathies, triggering nutritional deficiencies in patients due to metabolic alterations. The case study is directly associated with liver cirrhosis, and corresponds to a 38-year-old male patient diagnosed with liver cirrhosis due to a history of excessive alcohol consumption. He presented moderate to severe proctalgia, hemoglobin decreased to 6.6 grams, pain and increased volume in the lower abdomen, significant leukocytes with thrombocytosis and liver profile within normal parameters, and was admitted to the emergency room for septic symptoms. This pathology has a significant incidence of mortality in the country, therefore it is important to know the nutritional complications that patients with cirrhosis may develop due to the disease, therefore, through an adequate process of comprehensive care and follow-up will ensure a better nutritional health status by educating the patient to lead healthy eating habits in relation to the disease. | es_ES |

| dc.description.abstract | La cirrosis hepática es el resultado final de las afecciones en el hígado limitando su función normal, afectando el estado de salud con complicaciones como ascitis. edema, sangrados, esplenomegalias, hematomas y encefalopatías hepáticas, desencadenando deficiencias nutricionales en los pacientes por alteraciones metabólicas. El caso de estudio esta asociado directamente a la Cirrosis Hepática, corresponde a un paciente masculino de 38 años de edad diagnosticado con cirrosis hepática por antecedentes de excesivo consumo de alcohol, presento proctalgia moderada a fuerte intensidad, descenso de hemoglobina a 6.6 gr, dolor y aumento de volumen en el hemiabdomen inferior, leucocitos importantes con trombocitosis y perfil hepático dentro de los parámetros normales por lo que impresiona cuadro séptico por lo cual fue ingresado al área de emergencias. Esta patología tiene una incidencia significativa de mortalidad en el país, por ello es importante conocer las complicaciones nutricionales que los pacientes con cirrosis pueden desarrollar debido a la enfermedad, por consiguiente, a través de un adecuado proceso de atención integral y seguimiento se permitirá asegurar un mejor estado de salud nutricional educando al paciente a llevar hábitos alimenticios saludables en relación a la enfermedad. | es_ES |
