This clinical case is of a female patient with pulmonary fibrosis. She was hospitalized for a week at the IESS Quevedo General Hospital with a clinical picture of oxygen dependence. She was admitted to the intensive care area, also presenting a clinical picture characterized mainly by productive cough, fever of 36.9ºC. , and by the presence of a 95% oxygen saturation. The main objective of this clinical case is to describe the diagnosis and follow-up of a patient with pulmonary fibrosis, the set of various methodologies has allowed the clarification of the role that various factors play in the development of Pulmonary Fibrosis, something that until a few years was unexplored territory, largely due to the excessive weight that was given to inflammatory processes to explain this disease molecularly until before 2001. During hospitalization, it was observed that the patient showed a favorable evolution in the recovery of the symptomatological picture with the administration of the medications prescribed by the doctor plus the techniques and procedures applied by the respiratory therapist such as oxygen therapy, application of nebulizations, and techniques of respiratory physiotherapy, all this in order to help the patient to counteract respiratory difficulty, facilitate the elimination of secretions and reduce bronchial resistance and respiratory work.es_ES
