dc.description | The present case study is focused on distant parental relationships that influence the acceptance of the diagnosis of Mental retardation level in a 9-year-old girl, starting from the conceptualization of the variables to define it, since parental relationships within the role that must Complying with the family in these cases is essential since according to these, the reactions to the diagnosis will be presented, which will lead to determine how they will approach and act as a family in this situation, being a key point for the beginning or not of a treatment that improves the quality of life of the patient in the hands of mental health professionals. The psychological treatment with cognitive behavioral therapy with the technical application of cognitive restructuring in the patient managed to acquire and develop cognitive and social skills to help better academic performance, in addition to working on the development of their autonomy functions to decrease their dependence. The study of this case was carried out at the Padre Marcos Benetazzo Educational Unit of the Babahoyo Canton. The cognitive-behavioral approach was applied, with the collaboration of her mother and her teacher from the family and school environment. | es_ES |

dc.description.abstract | El presente estudio de caso está enfocado en las relaciones parentales distantes que inciden en la aceptación del diagnóstico de Retraso mental leve en una niña de 9 años, partiendo desde la conceptualización de las variables para definirlo, ya que las relaciones parentales dentro del rol que debe cumplir la familia en estos casos es fundamental ya que según estas, se presentaran las reacciones ante el diagnóstico, lo cual llevará a determinar de qué manera abordaran y actuaran como familia ante esta situación, siendo un punto clave para el inicio o no de un tratamiento que mejore la calidad de vida del paciente de mano de profesionales de la salud mental. El tratamiento psicológico con la terapia cognitivo conductual con la aplicación técnica de reestructuración cognitiva en la paciente logró adquirir y desarrollar habilidades cognitivas y sociales para ayudar a un mejor desempeño académico, además de que se trabajó en el desarrollo de sus funciones de autonomía para disminuir su dependencia. El estudio de este caso se realizó en la Unidad Educativa Padre Marcos Benetazzo del Cantón Babahoyo. Se aplicó el enfoque cognitivo conductual, y se contó con la colaboración de su madre y su profesora del entorno familiar y escolar. | es_ES |
